1.1 Basic Life Skills Dog Training Class Homework for Clients
This document condenses all seven weeks of client homework from my group training classes through my dog training business, Authentic Canine. The written weekly homework provided to class attendees highlights my communication skills extending beyond verbal teaching in class, recognizing and maximizing on the different ways clients retain information.
1.2 Puppy Training Camp Graduation Video #1
I put these graduation videos together for clients whose dogs were enrolled in my day camp programs. Along with in-person skill-transfer sessions and written follow-ups, these videos allowed clients to observe my cues and responses to their dog’s decisions, providing a more complex understanding of how to use these skills effectively. Additionally, this video highlights my communication skills extending beyond humans, honing in on body language and making quick, calm, and strategic decisions to maintain effective communication with a distractable puppy while demonstrating patience, warmth, and understanding.

Appendix 2 – Teamwork and Leadership
2.1 Reference Letter – Allison
A reference letter from my training mentor, Allison Schaefer, owner of Ethical Canine Behaviour Solutions. I shadowed Allison’s dog training sessions while I completed my certification. Upon completion, I moved into an assistant position with Allison, and later into co-teaching. Today, we have aligned our businesses as partners, and maintain a strong working relationship. This letter speaks to my teamwork skills in building a partnership with Allison in which both our businesses benefit off each other, and my leadership demonstrated on my independent contractors with intakes, scheduling, and client support.
2.2 Daily Staff Calendar Schedule
This single-day calendar sample of my team’s work schedule at Authentic Canine demonstrates my commitment toward keeping my team organized with their client appointments, ensuring their days run smoothly.

4.1 Puppy Training Camp Graduation Video #2
Along with appendix 1.2, this is a training video I provided to a client upon completion of my Puppy Training Camp program to supplement their learning. This puppy demonstrated early-onset aggression toward body handling and reactivity toward dogs. My actions throughout the video demonstrate my skills in humanely resolving these behaviour problems while making quick decisions to increase, decrease, or maintain the current challenge based on the puppy’s immediate responses.
4.1 Spreadsheet of training courses I completed
This spreadsheet was put together by my supervisor and lists the training courses I completed while working as an electronics technician. I worked as an Electronics Technician. These courses all contributed to my ability to effectively problem solve and make decisions as they contributed to my knowledge base.
Appendix 5 – Numeracy
5.1 A photograph I took of a very important moment at a wedding ceremony
I took this photograph at the first wedding I shot. I captured the joy on the bride and groom’s face as they walked down the aisle for the first time as husband and wife. The subjects were moving, and the photograph is sharp and in focus because of the quick adjustments I made to my camera.

6.1 An in-studio photograph taken using studio lighting
I took this photograph in-studio after learning how to use studio lighting through an online course. The strobe lights could sometimes fail but because I was able to think critically and
resolve technical issues, I was always able to operate my equipment during a session.

I proposed a major system change to my manager at K9HQ Doggy Daycare while I was enrolled in the Academy for Dog Training program. I recognized that the evidence-based information I was learning in the academy did not align with the training and management methods we were using in the daycare, despite the daycare’s claims of being up to top industry standards. My proposal led to the complete overhaul of the previous, punitive-based internal system being replaced with strict, evidence-based, force-free handling methods.
